Hastings HIVE is the largest and most advanced shared office space in the Hawke’s Bay. Customers range from corporate branches to NFP (not-for-profits), to small business and independent coworkers who together create our friendly and vibrant coworking community.

The Role:

The community manager role is pivotal for delivering our quality customer experience and fostering an inclusive community spirit.


We seek a very special person to liaise with our customers and their staff, respond to enquiries, provide tours for prospective customers and manage sign-ups.


Commercial acumen and the ability to develop strong relationships with our customers and their staff is important, but upholding our values whilst ensuring the efficient and harmonious running of Hastings HIVE is essential.


Role Responsibilities:

  • Liaise day-to-day with customers and staff, including regular email news updates

  • Provide personal tours of Hastings HIVE for prospective customers

  • Consult with new and existing customers on their office needs and finding solutions

  • Follow up new enquiries through to sign-up

  • On-board new customers, including orientation and health & safety training

  • Accurate and timely administration of HIVE records and processes

  • Liaise with and oversee HIVE suppliers to ensure proper delivery of goods and services

  • Co-ordinate customer social events and contribute to HIVE social media coverage


About You (in priority order):

  • Self-starter with great customer service attitude

  • Would suit an office manager or PA with sound business experience

  • Values-driven communicator who inspires confidence and unity amongst customers

  • Natural organiser, good at implementing and following systems and processes

  • Good sales and commercial acumen (but training provided to the right candidate)

  • Comfortable with using modern office productivity tools and software

  • Confident arranging, participating in and encouraging social activities


Rewards & Benefits

Generous hourly contract rate

Flexible 15 to 20 hours over 4 or 5 day week to suit right candidate (potential to increase hours)

Flexible working hours may suit parent with school age children
